The Lime Twiggs

The Lime Twiggs is Carl Larsen on bass/vocals, David Buskell on guitar/vocals, and Zach Ladd on drums/vocals. The Lime Twiggs formed about 10 years ago primarily as the voice box of the songwriting team of David Buskell and Carl Larsen or LARBUS as they are know in the biz. This is the first theatrical project for Carl Larsen and David Buskell. Zach Ladd has acted before and is very excited to be returning to theatre, but this time in LARBUS form. Carl is the music director of this show.

Mike Fox, Playwright and Producer, has been a fan of the band for five years. Carl was very thrilled when Mike Fox asked him if he would collaborate in the writing of the music for the play. Every week, from November until March, the two would flip flop between meeting at Mike's house in Bowie, MD or Carl's place in Oakton, VA. Mike would bring his notebook of lyrics and Carl would bring his guitar and tape recorder. In that four month span, the two belted out three very powerful songs. Carl donated "Someone's Gonna Be Lonely", a Lime Twiggs original. "Baby, It's No Use" and "Security Clearance To Your Heart" were songs with both original lyrics from Mike Fox, which Carl modified in order to create catchy melodies. "You Better Write It Down" was a song that came out of a conversation between Mike and Carl about a dream sequence in the show.

David Buskell is one of the finest rock guitarists you've never heard of; his lead and rhythm playing is from another world. He uses his Stratocaster to peel off large chunks of color, treading carefully between Bombastic and the Beach Boys.

Zach Ladd played many times at DC Space and The Cellar Door. His hard hitting vintage Ludwig kit keeps the band in line.

The Lime Twiggs have performed in and around DC, Baltimore, Arlington and NYC. They prefer to play putrid noname venues with flat beer and greasy food. The Lime Twiggs sometimes resent being a LARBUS puppet but take comfort in knowing that they would be the new pop kings if another pop new wave would hit America.
